My journey...

A lifetime of Outdoor Adventures...

  • Serving the wildlife. wild lands and wildlife enthusiasts of Utah at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for 32 Years
  • Conducting wildlife-oriented tours throughout the western US from Alaska to Arizona
  • A trusted advisor giving other adventuerers ideas for wildlife adventures to the Western, Northern and Southern hemispheres
  • Created The Campfire Companion Harmonica in honor of the role this happy musical instrument has been for me. It has added warmth and brightness to all my campfires!
  • Helping others to make their own “campfire music” from their hearts. The music video on this page “Stirrin’ The Embers” is a song I wrote, performed and shot all the photos and video for. It truly is from my heart and I encourage everyone to create something from their heart.
  • Conducting Mini Concerts where all participants recive a Campfire Companion Harmonica and learn to play as a group. Great for Conference Team Building and Fun Break-Out Sessions.

Nature, art and music are companions for life!

what i do...

Presentations - sharing Adventures Trail

I love lifting people’s spirits and glattening their hearts - especially those who are in challenging circumstances. I love taking presentations that feature my experiences, photos and video of wildlife and wild lands to assisted living communities and special education classes.

  • Where the Earth is New - Hawaiian Islands
  • Australia - from Beaches to outback...
  • Galapago Islands - Adaptations in isolation
  • To Touch the Wild - Alaska
  • Birds I Have Known

Wildlife Art

Studying wildlife has been a big part of my life. I worked for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for 32 years (now retired). Making wildlife art has given me a whole new way of studying and enjoying wildlife.

Campfire Concerts

These are unique mini-concerts where I demonstrate the magical sounds of the harmonica, then I give all participants their own harmonica and teach them how to play - and they do in this participative program - even with no prior musical experience!

My Art...

The focus of my art is capturing the wildlife and wild-lands of the American West in their infinate moods. My goal is always take compelling photographs with dramatic compositions. I then coloborate with my wife, Traci Douglass in doing paintings together. Typically I draw the composition and do detailed underpaintings and she does the finishing layer.

I have recently started doing sculpting with clay also.

to touch the wild...Alaska

And to help others be “touched by wildlife and widland experiences”

Photo Highlights of Presentations

Isles of the Pacific

  • Prince William Sound

and Cook Inlet - Alaska

  • Galapagos Islands
  • Australia
  • Hawaiian Islands
  • Vancouver Island

Birds I have known...

The list is long...and growing! It is my intention to keep it that way all the days of my life. It all started in my youth with parents, a brother and sisters who loved nature. I am forever grateful! And now I love seeing that legacy continue with my children and grandchildren...
